ABOUT THE PROJECT
Since 2019, the goal has been to build a geo-political Commission. However, the old image of the EU as "an economic giant but a political dwarf" persists. This project helps the EU boost its geo-political profile in China, moving beyond pure economic or legal definitions to recognize the EU as a central player in international politics.
It is necessary in times of crisis to understand the EU beyond economics. Wars and tariff disputes have forced the EU to develop strategies like the "ReArm Europe" plan. Consequently, partners must look at the politics and geo-strategy of the Union. Furthermore, it is vital to mitigate the risks of misinformation by supporting a "Europe Fit for the Digital Age" through new technologies.
Through six courses, research, and public activities, we aim to provide multidisciplinary education to Chinese students and the public. We want to stimulate thoughts on the EU as a counter-pole in a multipolar world. With this project, we want to train researchers to analyze geo-strategic actions and help locate and remove disinformation about the EU in China.
